Our constitution is framed in bullets, the obituaries of our own children should not be, and at school no less, period.Guns being used to murder our children at school are not what our ancestors aimed for us and are rolling over in their graves like a revolver's chamber over the issue, thank you very much.Gun control needs to be addressed like a loose cannon strapped onto a rabid animal.Guns are more dangerous than cars at face value yet there are less courses necessary to shoot than to drive.And it just goes to show that the Federal Government is out of control, recently allowing people to carry concealed without a permit, right in the face of all the mass shootings lately, as if they are begging us to do something--and we should.Laws should have been made to ensure that only those who deserve to own guns could buy them A LONG TIME AGO.More than just a background check should be done for gun owners, and there should be different tiers created for different types of firearms. Small caliber varmit and plinking rifles should be easier to possess, with about as much certification and training as a drivers license, then hunting rifles, then semi-auto rifles and handguns, say as much as a class B or A vehicle license, and then fully auto and large caliber rifles, with options for citizens able to possess full auto firearms, though with about as much certification and education as a pilot's license. Right now it's very difficult to own a fully automatic, unless you're law or military, which I would perceive as a danger/deprivation of The People, because if our society does fail, most of the firepower to rectify the issue would be in the hands of those most responsible for the failure, see. And I would even go further and allow citizens to possess things like grenades, mines, anti-tank and anti-aircraft rockets, though with the highest of credentials. This way we could ensure that the public has possession of the weapons necessary to keep at bay invading armies or insurrections, and also ensure that the best of the best have them.Gun ownership should be allowed only after an extensive certification course, with a personal pass/fail recommendation coming from more than just one instructor, done on a double-blind style random basis to avoid corruption and bribery. Also a peer review system should be employed such as the one recommended on this site for drug laws. Gun purchases should be put into a registry and every year gun owners should have to consent to a check to ensure that their firearms are still in their possession and that they are still in a good mental condition. If guns are lost, gun ownership should be revoked for a period. Gun ownership is an honor and we should honor such possessions with honor and extensive laws and education surrounding guns should be honorable towards such honor, honorably.With more education given to gun use, their improper use in our educational systems should fade, honorably enough.
